Irene is an enthusiastic and energetic event organiser with a real ‘hands-on’ approach to getting the job done. She was central to putting together a successful community storytelling project in partnership with Creative Writers Network in Glenoe, and the events she has organised since have been popular, well-attended and have a real sense of community engagement. Her love of storytelling and local traditions is contagious as is her belief about what is possible.

Irene's professionalism, wealth of ideas and contacts along with her never ending energy and enthusiasm were key drivers and vital to the organisation of " Larne Lights Up" a cross community celebration.  Her practical knowledge and skills were also invaluable as we considered the logistical issues and health and safety requirements associated with putting together a concert.  The event was quite an undertaking for our Group and we had moments of self doubt but Irene's hard work and encouragement kept us going and the event came off with great success, our spirits soaring as high as those Chinese lanterns!

We thought we knew what we wanted from our community celebration event until Irene met us and gave us a whole new perspective on what was possible.  Her creative thinking and enthusiasm knows no boundaries and we were delighted with her ideas for our event.  Our themed indoor village fete was a huge success, complete with hay bales, gazebos, wonderful music and food and even a couple of scarecrows!  Irene’s heart is within the community so she really gives her all to make any event memorable and enjoyable for everyone.
